Since we opened in 2016 Replique have grown to be Australia's largest "instant hair", hair piece supplier, with locations in Sydney and Melbourne, but our heart belongs in Brisbane!!!!
Founder, Scott Hickman had been wearing hairpieces for decades, including old fashioned lace top toupees (that a lot of our competitors still use!), as well as mono, lace front and poly bases. When he started Replique in Fortitude Valley Brisbane in 2016 he decided to offer mens hair units in the same way that women are offered hair extensions, a client with male pattern baldness or hair loss and hair fall, can come in, choose their colour and have the hair system fully customised in house.
What used to take 4 to 6 months, when a hair replacement salon or clinic, would measure the bald area, design a template, and send it to a manufacturer to be made, now only took hours.
Scott was able to work with a team of amazing hairdressers and barbers to give our clients amazing and contemporary haircuts.
Replique Brisbane grew and grew, we added a third hair treatment room in 2018 and in 2020 we moved to a beautiful space in James Street Fortitude Valley with 5 private treatment rooms.
Our job has never been just about replacing hair that's been lost, it's also about training and support. we found an amazing niche in helping wonderful Indian and South East Asian men who were getting their hair done for their Weddings, then flying back to India for their amazing celebrations. As they were going to be away for so many weeks we developed. Welcome Pack, with tape, glue and haircare products so they and other clients could do their services at home or abroad rather than needing to come in for a service.
In 2020 Scott and his business partner and amazing hair dresser, Santiago, opened their second location in Sydney. Then in 2023 we teamed up with an amazing partner to open our third location, in Melbourne.
The only blip on our growth has been covid and the lockdowns and the struggle to keep up with demand for men who want amazing service and quality hairpieces. Scott and Santiago had to close their Brisbane brand for a short while, and are thrilled to be able to operate our Brisbane and Sydney salons, with incredible support staff.
Our Brisbane hair replacement salon is beautiful, we have teamed wth Freedom Suites in Stones Corner, just a few minutes south of the CBD to create a private and discrete environment for our clients, and we have 3 hour free parking!
