Replique Hair Pieces are hand made with beautiful Remy hair. We're actually a bit fussy about who we supply them to, as we really like to work with guys who are going to enjoy and maintain their hair.
A hair piece, or hair system/hair patch, is a big investment and can be life changing but they require some work. They aren't as easy as simply putting on a baseball cap.
At our locations in Sydney and Melbourne, we see dozens and dozens of clients each week and it's in our interest to help our guys make their hair last as long as possible and so we a re always on the look out for new products to help style and protect the hair.
Never use hard forming products like wax or gel, as these can dry and cause friction when combing or styling your hair. They can cause the hairs to snap or break and shorten the lifespan of the hairpiece.
Some of our clients have been shaving their hair for years, before getting a hair piece. SO when we ask them what hair care products they are used to, we get met with a smile and a blank stare.

We love getting photos of new products from our clients, of new products they want to try in their hair pieces. As a rule we recommend our clients only ever use soft, and easily dissolvable products on their hair pieces. This includes Mousse, Hair Spray and Pomades.
Don't use Gel or Wax as these can easily damage the hairs when you are running your fingers or a combo through the hair.
After a wet look? I remember Brylcreem from back when I'd stay with my grandparents and would foci around the bathroom.
This product has been around for years. It is white, soft, slightly oily and leaves a gentle wet look coat on the hair.
A little bit goes a long way, there's no need to lather a heap of this stuff on.
Simply scoop a small amount and disperse it in your hand, then run in through your hair.
With any product we recommend just placing it at the hair not eh top and back of the scalp, then gently comb the product through your hair.
One of the reasons a Replique hair unit looks so natural is the amazing hairline. Never put product no the hairline as it can once the hair to climb together, or congeal and expose the base. To have a flawless hairline you want the hairs to look full and not compromised by product.
This is a fav of our clients, it is Australian made and comes in many different formula, but we like to stick with the Shaping Clay as it is pliable and soft and doesn't dry hard.
It has a pale colour that can remain on the hair, so just use it sparingly and comb it through dry hair to disperse the colour.
There is no need to add further hair care product each day, just reset the product with a water bottle, or Leave in Conditioner bottle.
Blending a human hair system, with a clients biological hair is essential to the hair replacement looking natural, so sometimes it is a good idea to smooth the sides and back hair of the system downwards with product such as the shaping clay.

Possibly the most important hair care product you will use to keep your new hair patch soft and supple, is Leave In Conditioner. We have tried so many different types and really like this variety from Sukin.
A lot of Leave in Conditioners have an overbearing aroma, making using them quite off putting.
The Skin leave in conditioner is very mild but has a strong conditioning element to it to is softens and nurtures the hair.
Our biological hair produces natural oils, that keep the hair supple. If you have a human hairpiece or wig or hair patch, you need to nurture and maintain it or the hair can become damaged.
We recommend using a Leave In Conditioner like this, every day or every second day, and gently coming through.
Some clients like to style their hair piece with a hair dryer, we always recommend using the hair dryer on a low setting and it's a great idea to use a fine mist of the Leave In Conditioner while using the hair dryer, to add extra protection
Gently using a Replique Hair Piece comb can extend the lifespan of your hair piece. Our combs, hair oils, shampoo and conditioners are all available at repliquehair.com or in our Melbourne and Sydney locations.
At Replique we want clients for life, so we have a vested interested in our guys maximising the life of their hair piece so they keep coming back year after year.
That's why we always give away a special hair piece comb to all clients. many clients don't receive additional support from their Australian hair unit supplier so they don't know how to maintain and care for their system.
Need to style your hair piece? Then it's a natural reaction to simply grab a brush or comb that's nearby and use that, but traditional combs and brushes aren't designed for hair pieces. Many brushes are made for specific purposes, such as to add volume when used with a hair dryer.
The bristles of these brushes can be very harsh, and can break or even pull the hair from the hairpieces out.
Likewise, fine tooth combs can be damaging and too small to correctly style a hairpiece.
