Bianca and I bonded over a Sunday afternoon phone call that covered our small dogs, going to bed at 9pm on a Saturday and of course hair loss!
Bianca lives in Brisbane and first experienced female hair loss with Alopeica 18 years ago. in this range of videos Bianca discusses how her hair loss impacted her life. Her decision to shave her hair off and proudly rock a beautiful shaved head, and her experiences discovering the joy that can come from having a variety of wigs.
Getting any type of hair replacement can be overwhelming. there are so many options from extensions to wigs, to turbans and hair systems.
Bianca was aware of the "stick on hair" option for men, where a hair piece is customised and bonded with hair piece tape or glue. but though the only option for women with hair loss was wigs.
We help a lot of female clients in our Sydney and Brisbane salons, but we focus on semi permanent hair loss solutions.

Often for a human hair topper or hair system to be bonded securely, we need to shave the scalp as most tapes and glues are designed for the skin.
But we now have the ability to glue onto hair. This medical grade adhesive from Italy is wonderful for women who dont want to shave their hair.
The hair underneath is washed and dried prior to the fitting, then the medical grade adhesive is bonded to the clients hair, and also to the topper, and then carefully bonded to the scalp.
Some hair replacement studios in Europe are making major advances in this bonding technique and Replique is one of the only hair replacement salons in Australia to offer it.
This is such a relief for female clients who want a bonded semi permanent hair loss solution without having to shave their hair.
This is something we judge on a case by case situation. Many clients are comfortable shaving their hair, especially if they have Alopecia, rather than if they are trying to grow their hair back, and are experiencing short term hair loss.
The benefit of the tape over the glue is that it is very easy to do the monthly services from home, we train clients to remove the topper, clean it and rebond with fresh tape. For glue this is a bit trickier and requires a longer clean up time but it gives such a wonderful option instead of wearing a wig that is removed daily.
